Race registration platform built for New Zealand and Australian events
Take entries, payments and participant data in one system built for race organisers, with timing ready when you need it.
Recognised bodies the technology has supported

Barefoot provides race registration software for Australian and New Zealand organisers.

The registration challenge — how these events really run
Most organisers land on race registration software after outgrowing a spreadsheet or getting burned by a rigid global platform: slow payouts that lock up cash before the event, templates that force the event to fit the software, and participant data quietly feeding a global brand. Registration is the first system every organiser touches and the one they live in for months before race day, so getting it right sets the tone for the whole event.
Why this technology works
for race registration
Simple at any scale
Registration a volunteer can learn in an afternoon, that a big series can still scale on.
Your money, same day
Same-day payouts and fees handled your way, so you control your own cash flow.
Entries straight to timing
Entries flow straight into timing with no re-keying, so results are clean and one team is accountable.
Your event, your data
Your event and your participants’ data stay yours, not fed into a global shoe brand’s ecosystem.
Who it’s for?
Barefoot takes entries for events across Australia and New Zealand, from a weekly fun run to a 50,000-person start line.
Some organisers run a whole calendar; some run one event a year off a committee roster. The platform flexes to both.
If you’ve outgrown a spreadsheet, or you’re tired of rigid templates and slow payouts, Barefoot is built for you.
Features
Entries built your way
Set up distances, categories, waves, teams, merchandise, add-ons and waivers without a rigid template. Keep entries open later because timing is built in.
Same-day payouts, your fees your way
Get entry money into your account fast, not held for weeks. Pass the booking fee to participants or absorb it, compliantly either way.
Registration and timing that flow
Entrant data moves straight into timing and live results, so race day is clean and there’s no second vendor to chase.
Data you own
You keep ownership of your participants and their data. We work with events for a living, we don’t harvest runners for a global brand.
Local support that knows events
Around 10 local staff with 75-plus years of combined experience, on your side before, during and on race day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Barefoot Registration include timing?
Registration and timing run on one system. You can take entries only, or add Barefoot timing so your data flows straight through to results.
How fast are payouts?
Barefoot supports same-day and fast payouts, so entry money reaches your account quickly rather than being held until after your event.
Can I pass the booking fee to participants?
Yes. You can pass the fee on or absorb it, your choice, compliantly either way.
Is my participant data mine?
Yes. You keep ownership of your event and your participants’ data. Barefoot is independent and AU and NZ owned.
Can a volunteer run it?
Yes. It’s simple enough to learn in an afternoon, and flexible enough for a professional series to scale on.
What is race registration software?
Race registration software is an online system that takes entries, payments and participant details for an event, then holds that data in one place through to race day. For running, triathlon, cycling and hybrid fitness events it usually also handles distances, categories, waves, teams, merchandise and waivers, and connects to timing so results are built from the same records the entries came from.
Who pays the booking fee, the organiser or the participant?
Race registration software is an online system that takes entries, payments and participant details for an event, then holds that data in one place through to race day. When do I get paid for entries?
That depends entirely on the platform, so confirm it before you sign anything. Some hold entry money until after your event, which leaves you funding permits, medals, road closures and course costs out of your own pocket for months. Others release funds on a set schedule, or the same day. If pre-event cash flow matters to your event, ask for the payout terms in writing.
Can I switch registration platforms and keep my past participants?
Yes. Most platforms will import a participant list from your previous system, and your entrant records are exportable data rather than something the old platform owns outright. Check three things before you move: that you can export full historical entries and not just names and emails, that your existing event URLs can redirect, and whether your contract locks you in for a season.
